Introduction:
Sơn Đoòng Cave (hang Sơn Đoòng, "Mountain River cave" in Vietnamese)is a solutional cave in Phong Nha-Kẻ Bàng National Park, Bố Trạch District, Quảng Bình Province, Vietnam. As of 2009 it is the biggest known cave in the world, and is located near the Laos–Vietnam border.
Fact:
The cave has several sinkholes, areas where the cave’s ceilings have collapsed due to weak limestone support. One can be found 3 kilometers from the entrance, where the light shines through. It allows various species of plants and insects flourish, creating a forest within the caves themselves.
The trail trek to Hang En cave is very similar to Son Doong cave. While Son Doong cave tour is very limited, camping inside Hang En cave is the best alternative for an active Vietnam tour.
