The Baatara gorge waterfall (Balaa gorge waterfall) is a waterfall in the Tannourine, Lebanon.The waterfall drops 255 metres (837 ft) into the Baatara Pothole, a cave of Jurassic limestone located on the Lebanon Mountain Trail.

Fact:
This unexpected waterfall drops 255 metres (837 ft.) into a cave and falls behind three natural bridges, which raise one above the other and overhang the chasm descending into Mount Lebanon. It can only be seen during the months of March and April, when the snows are melting.

Best time to visit:
The best time of year to visit the Baatara Gorge Waterfall is between the months of March and April when the ice melts and runs down Mount Lebanon, making the falls the most impressive. Geologists who studied the gorge in 1988 discovered that the second bridge may have been created after severe winter ice fall, breaking a massive chunks off the walls of the chasm.
